Anyone have Gestational Diabetes during a prev pregnancy?

If so, will you be tested for GD earlier this time? What has your dr said?

Re: Anyone have Gestational Diabetes during a prev pregnancy?

  • If had it with my first pregnancy, not with my second and I was borderline with my third.  No, I was not tested earlier with the subsequent pregnancies.  I imagine if my urine test indicated I was having problems processing insulin I would have though.

  • I had it with my first, but not with my second. With my second and this pregnancy, I got tested at the initial appointment at 8 weeks and then again at 28 weeks. So far so good with this pregnancy as well, so hopefully I pass the 28 week test too!

  • I got it at 28 weeks with my first and was on insulin.  With #2 I was on insulin at 6 weeks.  I never did a glucose test with #2 to test for it, my sugars were already high.  I've been checking my sugars for a few days now with this pregnancy, and they seem fine.  I'm just preparing myself for another full pregnancy of GD this time around...I haven't seen the doctor yet, but I'm gonna make an appointment soon.

  • I had it in #1 and I was induced at 37weeks for pre-eclampsia (I'm assuming based on several things that the doc said, but they never officially threw out that word).

#2 I was tested a month earlier that usual. I even had a different doc.

  • I had it with my son, and I have to have a sugar test tomorrow at 7w4d.  I'm NOT looking forward to it at all.

  • Hi mrscountry,

I tried to send you a private message but it kept coming back with an error message. Are you still selling your thirsties cloth diapering items that you posted last year?

    Thank you!
