Pregnancy teas

I'm 5 weeks today and all I want is a hot cup of tea in the morning, I've read so many conflicting theories in what you can and shouldn't drink.  I was wondering if the teas that are specific for moms to be are safe?   They are mostly raspberry leaf based which I cant seem to find a solid answer on.   Thanks!!

Re: Pregnancy teas

  • Res raspberry is.good. There are some herbals that are diuretics that are not.ok to take but I don't have a list in front of me.

  • I think most teas found in a grocery store are ok. From what I've read, herbal teas can be dangerous if they are not regulated. So if you're buying something in a grocery store, I think it's ok. Also try and look for decaffeinated if possible, but most caffeinated even have low low levels anyways.
  • My doctor's office recommended traditional medicinal s organic pregnancy tea. I got it on amazon and I really like the taste.

  • I've asked about this because I'm a big tea drinking and the ob said its ok to have one cup with tea bag she said not to steep loose leaf teas because we dont know how much is to much so one tea bag per day of herbal tea is ok.

  • There is a pregnancy tea made by yogi. I like it. It is hard to find though you may need to order online.
  • I've heard to avoid green tea!
  • I recommend Earth Mama Angel Baby's tea. I found a sampler at the Vitamin Shoppe and I really like the Morning Wellness Tea. It is yummy and it helps morning sickness. Here's the web site.  https://www.earthmamaangelbaby.com/pregnancy
  • Traditional Medcinials, Yogi Tea and Earth Mama all have a pregnancy tea which is made of organic herbs and safe for you and baby.

Green tea is definitely NOT the best to take due to the fact it is a diuretic and can also strip some nutrients from the body. (example- folic acic)

Black tea is one that can and should be taken out because of the caffeine content.

Most herbal teas are good but do take caution. I highly recommend those three teas for mommy. I used to use Yogi Teas for menstrual symptoms and they made them much more palpable so I have already bought their Mother-To-Be tea which has some raspberry leaf in it. So, enjoy and congrats!

  • Thank you! I just bought the Mother To Be Tea- excited for it!  It's the little things at this point :)
