I can't believe our baby girl is finally here, and she even came early!!
I went to my appointment on Monday and was still a "tight" one, no progress which was super disappointing. I asked my doctor if she thought that I'd go over my due date (which was tomorrow) and she said "There's no telling, your water could break tonight for all we know".
...well I woke up Tuesday morning around 4:30 and my shorts were soaked...I legit thought I had peed my pants so I went to the bathroom and finished "peeing" and was walking back to bed but kept leaking and just couldn't stop it. At this point I still wasn't 100% sure but I woke up DH we finished packing the bag and putting the carseats in then headed to the hospital (we stopped for breakfast at Chick-fil-A and got breakfast for FREEEEE since baby was on her way). I was in no pain at all and wasn't too sure my water broke or not so they did the test to confirm and the nurse checked me, I was still a tight one.
We got to our room by 7:30 and they immediately started me on pitocin to get things going. Umm...that's when shiz hit the fan, I was all about a natural birth until those contractions started. Everything hit SO FAST..my contractions went from NONE to one every 2 minutes lasting 30 seconds to a minute...I was so over it...so I caved and got the epidural. I could still feel every contraction and the pressure that came along with it just not the pain which made it much more manageable and made me much more pleasant. The nurse checked me at 11:00 and I was dliated to a 6. The doctor got there at noon and checked me on her way to perform a hysterectomy, to her surprise I was already complete and ready to go.
They told me to push on the first contraction just to see and immediately told me to stop, she was ready to pop out and they needed to get ready. I pushed through the next contraction and Gianna was out...it literally took less than 10 minutes of pushing and our girl was here!! They immediately put her on my for skin to skin for one hour.
I had zero colostrum or anything going up to the birth, I was so scared that she was going to starve or I wasn't going to be able to feed her. But they said milk usually comes within 72 hours from giving birth and mine came in yesterday which was day 3 exactly and she's not starved! So if your colostrum hasn't come in or if you haven't had any leakage, it will come!!
She is the sweetest thing EVER and aside from a blocked tear duct that scared the crap out of me because her eye turned red, she has been just perfect!!!
I can't believe we've made it this far ladies!!!!!
