Yes, you can...there are tons of stories where people don't get BFP's till well after AF was supposed to be due.

...I obviously have never experienced this though...I think there are a few members on this board that have though.

I haven't, but it is possible.  I've heard stories of women getting their first positive HPT a week (or later) after their missed period. 

I would keep testing every other day until AF shows.

Yes, you may not have enough of the hormones to have a positive the first time.

Thanks ladies... I was feeling really down today and being a total drama queen with my bff. 

I just want this so bad and it's so hard to wait.

I never got a BFP until the day AF was due....all 3 times.
