Can someone help about the birth cost without insurance in New Orleans

Hi moms, I am new to NO, my baby is coming out in 2 months, and because we have no insurance.
I am so much worrying about the cost for the birth, we heard it may cost 20~30k in total.

Can someone recommend a Doctor, and tell me roughly how much needed for a Caesarean/Natrual Birth in general?

  • I don't know about the costs, but maybe a midwifery home birth is less expensive? It may take you a while to get an answer on this board.Id ask about suggestions on your birth club board or trimester board. Can you apply for medicaid? I heard they pay for EVERyTHING!

    Make a pregnancy ticker
  • You should call Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (their phone number is (504) 529-1000) and ask to speak with someone in their Public Benefits Unit.  They can help determine if you qualify for Medicaid and if so, they can probably help walk you through the application process.

Good luck to you!  I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!

  • I agree with PP, try medicaid. Good luck!

  • I'm also new to NO too and got approved for medicaid, it only took a little over a week too. It was reallly fast! I would suggest looking into it
