2nd Pregnancy Sugar Test

With my first pregnancy I had Gestational Diabetes (should be renamed to Satan's Curse).  I was on insulin and the whole nine yards.  My OB told me yesterday that he wants me to come in next week for a 2 hour sugar test.  Oh yippee.  I don't know that I can handle that nasty drink with this MS bullsh*t that I've got going on.  Could make for an interesting (and pukey) morning.  We shall see.

I feel ya. I was so borderline with DS that I repeated the diagnostic 2 hour test twice. I am asking for the midwife to send me for an early GD test this time but I am not looking forward to it.

I know right?  Just thinking about that juice makes me gag.

The only small benefit is they make it very cold and it's carbonated so it's not as gross as it could be. But still, it made he hella nauseous at 33 weeks and I was feeling awesome then. Sigh.

I know I'm going to have to go through that sooner with twins BUT with my other two pregnancies I literally had to imagine it as a shot. It was the only way it was going to go down. Then I got the shakes and it really effed up my day.

Best of luck and praying you dont have to deal with the whole gd thing. Its one of my biggest fears with the pregnancy.

I had gestational diabetes with my 1st. I know this is dumb, but at first I hated myself for it. I would get SO mad if my numbers were just like 5 points to high. Luckily I got over it. Mine was controlled with diet and I had to get used to that. I wanted grape juice so badly and I couldn't have it because it had waaay to many carbs. So far I am trying to eat like I already have GD.. I see the doctor on the 18th and will ask for an early GD test.

I'm scheduling my first GD test in the next two weeks... I am NOT looking forward to it

This is my situation, almost exactly.  Except I was pregnant in the summer and I wanted to eat watermelon.  Not just a slice... I wanted bowls and bowls of it.  Suck...

I'll let y'all know how it goes.  I need to start eating like I have GD anyway, it's better for you.  I just HATE that if I do have it, my whole life will be controlled by food until my baby is born.  What can I eat?  When can I eat it?  Sorry honey, we can't go to dinner just yet.  I hated it the first time around, and I doubt this time will be much different.
