Non saggy maternity jeans?

Do they exist??

With DS, all my mat. pants were below the waist and I was able to wear a belt throughout my pregnancy to keep them up.  This LO is NOT having the belt thing, so I'm looking for some full panel type pants.  Problem is they all slide down and look all saggy baggy on me.  :

Has anyone found full panel jeans that REALLY stay up??  I feel like I need suspenders or something!

Re: Non saggy maternity jeans?

  • They will stay up once your belly is bigger.  I feel silly but I kind of tuck them under my bra to get them to stay up for the time being.

  • My friend gave me all of her maternity clothes--one of the things is a pair of JBrand full panel jeggings and they are *amazing*. Pretty expensive I think, but they look incredible on and stay up.

  • Have you tried different brands?  I had problems with Gap maternity pants (same thing, they sagged down), but the Motherhood ones have been working great for me.

  • I got some full-panel ones from Kohl's and they've been staying up nicely so far. Knock on wood!

  • I have no advice, but feel the same way. I have a Demi panel pair from Gap that I love. My full panel pair fom Motherhood will NOT stay up. I don't know if I need a bigger belly or what. I have heard that when you get bigger you prefer the full panel, but for now I'm rocking the Demi panel pants, their elasticity seems stronger to me than the elastiity in the full panel. Maybe try putting a belly band on top of the full panel? I plan on wearing more dresses when the weather warms. Good luck!

  • While I'm generally not huge fan of Motherhood Maternity (I think the prices are high compared for the meh quality), I will say that the jeans I recently bought from there fit better than any of the other (cheaper) ones that I've tried.

And like PP said, I also tuck the full panel up under my bra when needed :)  I know this won't be necessary later on when I get a little bigger.  The belly helps hold up the pants!

  • I splurged on 1 pair of designer maternity jeans. They are Citizens of Humanity and they fit great I prefer them over my non pregnancy jeans and they are full panel. I do have a pair from gap too but they bug me

  • I have full panel pants and this has been my expirience. All my Liz Lange pants slide down once I've had them on for a few hours. The only ones that stay up seem to by the Motherhood jeans I have that are called Indigo Blue Secret Fit. They don't sag on me and they seem to wash really well and keep their shape. I have another pair from Motherhood and they aren't as good as the Indigo Blue ones for whatever reason.

could it be the pants size is too big on you?
  • All through my last pregnancy, my pants always sagged.  I have given up on non saggy pants lol

  • Yah I give up too. Even as my belly gets bigger, this panel won't stay up on my bump. Part of it may be the size of the panel. Either way. I'm looking forward to it warming up. With DD2 I wore nothing but skirts and dresses at the end. I will be doing that again as soon as the weather allows. On that note... winter can suck it.
  • I have 2 pairs from Old Navy - one is full panel and one is the demi panel. I think they stay up pretty well, I do notice that if I wear a cami over the full panel, sometimes the top of the panel will roll over a little bit. I got them both in the same size I wore pre-pregnancy and they fit me pretty good. To be honest, it was easier finding maternity jeans than regular jeans! Tongue Tied

I would have to agree. I got 2 pairs last weekend and they have worked so much better then the pants I ended up returning to both Gap and ON. They actually stay up and they look like actual jeans and not maternity wear.

Last week they even had a sale so I got 2 pairs for $28.00 a piece.

  • I have a pair of Joe's that I like that have a full panel. Although I do feel that the top of my butt is popping out the top of all maternity jeans - does anyone else feel this way or do I just have a giant assss?

OK, you joke... but my FIL gave me his suspenders to wear this weekend (I have 1 pair of jeans that i wear on the weekend when we work on our house and they are even saggier than my "work week" jeans).  BEST THING EVER.  Never had to pull up my jeans once the entire weekend - and that's with bending over to pick up hammers, tape, nails, etc. off the floor!!!!

I might start looking for some slim/slender ones that don't have a big height adjuster on them so I can discreetly wear them to work.

  • When you say you wore a belt with your first, are you talking about a regular belt or a BeBand (maternity belt)? I have a BeBand so I don't button my regular pants anymore and it just covers the lump and keeps my pants up.

Heres the link for a BeBand; I even wore it postpartum which helped since my belly was still a little swollen but not big enough for maternity clothes.

  • I wore a regular belt.  (I stole one of DH's) My maternity jeans had belt loop and they were awesome!!! But this baby doesn't like them and she kicks the belt all day long.

  • I say try the BeBand, its great! You can still look good in your regular jeans but accomodate that belly :). I wear it with slacks too for work.

  • Old Navy has great maternity jeans that are consistent with your pre-pregnant sizing. I prefer the skinny full panel jeans. I've never had this issue with them being saggy. Are you buying them a little big for comfort?

They are having a sale right now, by the way.
