Sorry I know this is pointless, but I just need to vent. I of course was running late today, and forgot my lunch. So I text my sister who works maybe 2 miles away in the health care field, (She is not a nurse or doctor) to ask if she would please please please bring her favorite niece or nephew (our LO) some lunch. She texts back that she does not have coverage...really come on...everyone there gets a lunch. I used to work there. I just really really am hungry. So i guess I am having some cheese slices and a few pretzels and maybe I will even break down and have a Squirt because this momma just spent 10 mins crying to her DH about not having a lunch.
Re: lunch vent
I would usually just walk to the store, but we are having a pretty serious snow storm here in Northern Michigan, and the snow plows have not really caught up with the amount of snow, and I just don't want to risk falling on the ice. My husband drops me off at work, and picks me up since we are trying to pay off this SUV before we get another one, so he has the car, since he works farther away than I do. It has just been a bad bad lunch day.
I wish I could have something delivered, but where we live the only 2 restaurants in town that deliver don't start until 4. I live in a town with maybe 4500 people and we have 2 stop lights, one at the school and the other at the highway intersection pulling into town. I really wish I lived in a bigger city sometimes.
I know being hungry sucks but you're upset that your sister, who is at her job, is unable to bring you food in a snowstorm? TBH, I think it took balls of you to ask. I'd never ask someone to leave their job in a storm to do me that favor and I think it's pretty unfair of you to question her reasons. Everyone gets breaks at work and everyone at some point has to sacrifice those breaks because someone called out sick or whatever (which doesn't sound unlikely if you're in the middle of a storm).
