Losing that baby weight

How is everyone doing with the baby weight?

I gained 40lbs with DD and I'm trying so hard to lose it. Are there any at home DVD's or work outs that you all are using? I recently joined Weight Watchers online and it has helped greatly, but I would love to be able to do more exercising at home since getting to the gym after work is something that I just can't do anymore.

  • I love pilates as well, and you can easily do mat work at home. Just get a DVD or book to learn the moves. Another idea is to go for a run or walk in the morning while your SO is getting ready for work. You should be able to get out for at least a 1/2 hour.

    Honestly though, I haven't been working out as much as I would like to be. The main thing I've been focusing on is my diet. I finally decided to give up meat and dairy products at the beginning of the year. Obviously that is a little extreme to most people, but really just increasing the amounts of whole foods you put into your body I would think would help significantly.

    When I do get a chance to work out I love sprinting on the treadmill or elliptical, or doing a Zumba or yoga dvd while B naps.

    ETA: I am also a server on the weekends which entails at least 8 hours on my feet. I'm guessing that helps too!

  • I had great success with Jillian Michael's video "The 30 Day Shred" for my wedding.  The workout is 25 mins I think and it kicks yours ass...pretty sure I used to swear at her on the tv all the time.
  • I still have about 6 lbs to go, but wanted to lose another 5 so I still have a bit to go. The majority came off quickly but I've been rebuilding muscle so I know that it would be coming off faster if not for that.

    I started P90X with my DH but I had to stop after 3 weeks of valiant effort. C doesn't cooperate with the long workout. I'm going to start up in March after DH's 90 days are up. I saw results in just that short time so I'm excited to get back into it.

  • My plan is to start doing Insanity next week. I didn't gain a lot of weight and only have a few pounds to lose. But I liked how tone I became using this program. I need to be in shape for my BIL's wedding in April.

  • Definitely Tracy Anderson post pregnancy dvd! It's 47 minutes and works abs, butt, arms, and legs. I love it, it's super hard, and you can do it at home 4-6 days a week. You just need a mat and 3lb weights.

  • I gained 38 and I still have 13 to go.  Im at 11 weeks PP. I just did a fabulously fit mom video that was about 25 min and it was ok, its geared toward using LO in the workout but she didnt last the whole time.  I had to stop twice.

     Thinking of doing weight watchers soon.... 

  • I gained 43 and am down 31. I have 15 to go til prepregnancy. I've been doing Jillian Michaels Body Rev and lost 5 pounds in the first month so I am happy with that. I hope it'll get the rest off by the time I'm done with in April. I love it because it's only 30 minutes long, which is so much more do-able for me right now. I also use myfitnesspal to count calories.
  • I gained 40 during pregnancy but had gained weight before so im hoping to lose at least 50 but may not stop there Ive always had a few extra pounds to lose. But I calorie count using the app lose it and go to a turbokick class 2-3 times a week and try to get to the gym at least one more day a week. Since I started 5 weeks ago ive lost 10 but when i was breast feeding I lost 23 so still got 7 to go to pre-pregnancy weight but im losing 1.5 to 3 pounds a week!!
