Anyone have a method for getting a good deal on a rental car? We are going to the beach for ten days this summer. I just bought airline tickets, but the rental car costs made me do a double take...i wasn't ready to commit yet. Any tips on finding good deals?

We just keep checking all the companies over and over the closer we get.  Most of the companies you don't need to leave a credit card or make a deposit so make a reservation and then keep checking, especially as you get closer.  If you are going to a hot spot in high season, you won't get a good deal but at other times, you may get lucky.

I use Avis code A113400 or K199060. The latter is "safer" in that it's for anyone to use but usually it doesn't have as big a discount. I think the first is for Florida state employees...MH technically counts as one so I don't feel bad using it.
