I'm LEAKING!?!

I noticed some hard spots on the front of my Pj's this morning & wasn't sure what it was- I didn't think much of it. Well, after my shower this morning, I noticed I have a clear liquid coming from my nipples! I looked in my pregnancy books & online & said it was colostrum!

I have a question about this- after reading some online posts (from multiple websites), a few women have mentioned that nipple stimulation (bra rubbing up against nipples....and sex, for that matter) should be deterred, due to the fact that secreting colostrum can cause contractions/early labor? Does anyone know anything about this topic?

I never knew this could happen this early! Hope I don't run into any crying babies in public, anytime soon! lol

With my first pregnancy I started leaking around 24 weeks while we were on vacation in Hawaii...with my in laws. It was SO embarrassing! Anyway, I found I leaked the most at night so I started wearing a sports bra to bed with nursing pads in it. I leaked really bad for a week or so (day and night) and then it went down and only leaked every so often throughout the rest of pregnancy. I would check with your doctor about the nipple stimulation but mine never mentioned anything first time around. We avoided nipple stimulation during sex anyway mainly cause of the whole leaking thing...and I wore sports bras pretty much the rest of my pregnancy

I believe it to be very common and have never heard of it being an issue.  Through some nursing pads in your bra and chat with your doctor at your next appointment if you are concerned!

 I slept in sports bras they seemed to help and were pretty comfortable.

Ok- thanks, ladies! Nobody ever told me leaking could occur this early, so I was just shocked, to say the least!

I started leaking at 17 weeks.  I asked my doc about it and she said it's normal.  I don't leak enough to need nursing pads yet, but I find some crusties in my bra every once in awhile (sorry, TMI).  My doc didn't say to avoid anything, so while it's awkward, I don't think you need to worry about it!

I started at 14 weeks.  Hooray for an antsy baby. It does make things more interesting as my nipples can be super sore, but like other my doctor said not to worry.  If you start leaking earlier then you're more likely not to have a problem breast feeding.  

 Interestingly mine has stopped being completely clear all of the time.(TMI)

With my 1st I didn't start to leak until right before my due date, but I'm almost 23 wks now and it's starting. Mostly after SO decides to handle the goodies, but also after a shower. My boobs are purple from engorgement and so sore!
