Hello ladies!
First of all congratulations to you all! H and H nine months!
I figured I would ask this here since you ladies have had success TTC. My husband and I have been trying since July which is when I went off BC.
I finally went to the doctor because my cycles have gotten progressively longer since then. 45 days, 60 days, and the most recent was 65 days.
And I was also due for my annual appointment anyways.
I have been diagnosed with PCOS. :
I am obviously bummed but also somewhat relieved to have an answer and a plan. He wants to try Metformin first.
I would appreciate any advice from actual people rather than google! Did it work for you? Did it regulate cycles and ovulation? Were there any side effects? If it didn't work then what did? Any info is appreciated! Thanks so much.
Re: Metformin Q
Met worked really well for me this time, I O'ed at CD15, instead of CD22 or more. Met has some side effects not too bad though. I did lose some weight when I frist went on it. Also there are some poop issues- Google that ok.
So yes try Metformin for a bit before going on to heavy duty drugs.
Good luck- you can pm if you have more Q's.
Did you try Trouble TTC?
I know one person who conceived after losing weight while on metformin for a couple months.
We got pregnant on my 9th cycle which was my 1st cycle on metformin. As pp said, I had major issues with going to the bathroom. The doc should start you on a lower dosage so your body can adjust and then increase. I took 500mg per day the first week then 1000mg per day thereafter. First u/s tmw.... Praying for healthy!!!! Good luck to you.
Oh and the doc wanted me to take clomid also but I refused after gaining knowledge on here...
Thanks for the reply! Hoping for a great u/s tomorrow for you!
Dont worry too much about clomid yet! I took fermera (like clomid but less s/e). I would do 3 months or more of metformin before doing anything else. And like started before take a little at a time till up to a full dose.
