So we had our A/S today and it went mostly well. Everything looked
perfect except for an echogenic focus (white spot on baby's heart) which
is a soft marker for chromosomal abnormalities. Doctor didn't seem
overly concerned, but is sending us for a level 2 ultrasound within the
next couple weeks. Anyone else had or heard of something similar to
this? I'm trying to be calm and not freak out, because the doctor
didn't seem to think I needed to worry. Of course, I would have
preferred to hear that everything was perfect... But baby wasn't overly
cooperative in showing off the money shot, so while the tech could give
us a guess (75%) on gender, we're also not confident on that.
Hopefully the next ultrasound will answer both those questions. Sigh...
more waiting...
