YAY! I would love to see DOMA disappear. My family has a history of unpopular marriages- think West Side Story and religious intermarriage. I'm glad to see progress for all people, regardless!

I always find these stories bittersweet. I'm so glad that the right thing is finally being done, but it makes me sad that it took this long, particularly for those serving our country and their loved ones.

I feel the same way. Saddens me to think of all the loving couples who get treated like second class citizens, even to this day. But I'm glad we're seeing progress.

This really is exciting. I remember when the only place I knew of that extended benefits to same sex couples was Disney. My aunt and her wife both worked there and I remember feeling pretty great that they had managed to be professionals within such a progressive company.
