I am officially panicking and need some help.
I am 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow with our first (after 1 month TTC) and found out very early (3 weeks 3 days) that I was pregnant. My symptoms have been very sore, itchy breasts and cramping that comes and goes and doesn't even approach the intensity of my usual menstrual cramps (they keep me in the fetal position and make me yell). This morning around 730 I had some brownish/red mucousy discharge when I wiped. I called the Dr. and they had me come in to take blood and now I am waiting. Around 1130 when I went to the bathroom there was bright red blood when I wiped and one small dot in my underwear. Since then, I put in a pantyliner but nothing is on it, but I keep checking with tp and when I check my cervix there is very bright red blood with tiny clots. I have cramps but the same way I've had since the beginning. I'm worried that my breasts aren't sore today but that's been a symptom that comes and goes as well.
I was supposed to have my first appt with the midwife Friday but instead she scheduled an ultrasound for tomorrow morning but seems to not be concerned about this bleeding. Right now, I'm devastated waiting for the call from the lab results.
Is there any way this turns out well?
Re: Bleeding and Cramps, success stories?
I had some pinkish bleeding around 6 weeks, and I've had cramping a few times. HCG levels were on the low-ish side until this past week (10 weeks) and now everything is fine. Just had an u/s and baby looks good.
It's so hard to not know. Hang in there!
She said the levels are lower than what she would expect but that it's a ballpark and not to worry. I have an ultrasound at 930 tomorrow morning and I am completely terrified.
The blood still isn't "leaking" into my underwear or anything, it's only there when I wipe. But the cramps are more consistent than they have been. I can't help but think the worst.
Very early pregnancy is s hard. I had a major bleed with cramping and small clots at 6w2d. Another minor bleed around 10 weeks. I am now 35 weeks. My doctor thinks it was the placenta burrowing in at 6 weeks and no explanation for the 10 week bleed. Either way, I've gone on to have a healthy pregnancy.
On the other hand, I had a m/c 18 months ago and never bled once. Had to have a D&C.
Bleeding doesn't always = m/c. In fact 50% or more with bleeding go on to have Normal pregnancies. And miscarriages don't always cause bleeding. It's just so difficult the first few weeks. Hang in there and I hope that your u/s comes back happy!

Due 8/26/19!
I had the flu when I was between 3-4 weeks. I stressed about getting my fever down, but no matter what I did, it stayed between 100-103 for about 3 days, then around 99 for another few days. I went to urgent care to be tested for the flu and to find out what to do. I had started spotting that day, but the doctor said not to worry, especially since I spotted a lot with my first pregnancy.
I started bleeding more the next day, and I kind of figured I would miscarry since I was only a few weeks along. I bled (like normal-period bleeding) for 4-5 days.
I got worried and called my OB's office. The day I called, the office had closed because the roads were icy (people freak about this stuff in Mississippi...) so I had to leave a message with their answering service. The doctor who called me back wasn't mine, but he basically told me to take my Tamiflu, Tylenol, and take some cold baths, eat popsicles, whatever it takes. I told him it wasn't working, and that I was bleeding. He told me that this early, 5 days of moderate bleeding is ok, but a week or more is cause for concern. Heavy bleeding and passing blood clots is cause for concern too, but this never happened to me.
As soon as my temp came down, I stopped bleeding, and I feel fine now. My appointment is on Thursday, so I'm crossing my fingers that they'll tell me everything is ok.
I guess the point of my story, although it may not be very encouraging, is that I flipped over the difference between period bleeding, implantation bleeding, and just bleeding-bleeding. It's all going to be scary, I think, but you should definitely speak up if you're worried. I'd rather waste a few minutes with a phone call than waste a week in worry.
Good luck to you!
