Is anyone considering this? I'm just thinking we are not in any position to be giving out gifts we normally do. I have two nieces, and DH has two nephews. I'm thinking about getting each of them something small and calling it a day. If you are considering this are you doing anything to substitute the gifts?

Re: Giftless Xmas...
My Blog
We are very much in this situation. We are going to give cards to immediate family with pictures of Ella. We have a goddaughter that we will buy for and my cousin has Ella and we have her in the drawing so we will buy for her. The christmas trees will be bare this year. =(
we are doing a family pollyanna. much more doable.
two years ago i suggested that the entire family gets together one day on a weekend and do a family volunteer day. two years ago we painted three rooms in a Ronald McDonald House, last year we all volunteered at the VA Hospital and this year we are all recording books for blind children (there is a school for the blind that uses them). Anyway- we just found that we get more out of that than going crazy into debt over gifts. just a suggestion-
it doesn't have to be anything big to make a difference. plus its fun to see what everyone comes up with and then we vote on our project.
We have 6 neices and nephews and they are still getting gifts. However, everyone else is getting a picture of the baby in a nice frame. With me not working, thats all we can do. I am sure people will understand.
