MN for Hannah

I think DH and I have decided on Hannah if this LO is a girl.

I want her MN to honor my grandmother, whose name is Martha Pearlene (goes by Pearl).

Does Hannah Pearl or Hannah Pearlene flow more smoothly? Or if you hate both, other suggestions on how to incorporate the name?

  • Ooo, both sound pretty good! I think it depends on your last name... how many syllables is it?

  • Hannah Pearl is a good combo!

  • With a one syllable LN, I think Pearlene flows better. However, Pearl is a much more popular and widely liked name right now. So you have to decide whether you want to go for the MN that flows better but is more oldfashioned, or the name that doesn't flow as well (but still sounds very good!) but is more modern.

I think I'm going to vote for Pearlene....  it might sound old fashioned, but I kind of like how unique it is. I don't think you could go wrong with either of your choices though :)

Good luck deciding! And congratulations on your pregnancy :)

  • I think that both are awesome!  I like Pearlene a little more though just because it is unique and pretty.

  • I'm leaning towards Pearlene as well...I haven't ever heard it except for my grandmother. Thanks everyone!

I agree.  I vote Hannah Pearlene.  Plus this was your grandmother's actual mn so I would use it.

  • Hannah Pearl is perfect - Hannah Pearlene feels like it has an arbitrary extra syllable.
