  • I'm honestly surprised the responses have been as tame as they have been (though I dont go on the 3rd tri more so I dont know what the usually state of their convos is) - but no one has side-eyed her at all.  Good luck to her though.
  • I think its because the tone of her posts seem legit and she is consistent with replies. Plus we all know that it really does happen.

  • This happened to a girl my sister knows!!! She found out in her third trimester when she went to the doc complaining of stomach pain.  Doc told her she was KU.  And she REFUSED TO BELIEVE HIM!!!! A few weeks later she went into labor.  At that point there was really no denying it anymore.  Called her boyfriend on the way to hospital.  CRAZINESS. Baby is perfectly fine.

  • I know someone that had the same thing happen to them. She never had regular periods, and she was a big girl anyways. I don't remember when she found out but I know it was late into the pregnancy.

  • I don't believe her.

The only person I know that legit didn't know she was pregnant (another bump poster from back in the day) got pregnant with an IUD. Even she figured it out before 20 weeks.

  • The woman who cut my hair when I was little (small town, same person every single time... known her since I was like 5) didn't know she was pregnant until she delivered.

She had her little boy in the bathtub one night. She was a heavier set girl and didn't notice any weight gain, never felt any movement, wonky cycles her entire life so she was used to not getting her period for any length of time, no other symptoms etc. she started having severe back pain one day at the salon and went home... slept for a while, woke up with nasty cramps and back pain, got into a warm bath and 20mins later she had her son. Crazy and scary!

ETA: Baby and mom were both fine!

  • WOW.

A friend of mine got pregnant when she was about 24 and had no idea until she was 4-5 months along.  She was always skipping periods, never regular, and her and her boyfriend had broken up.  She hadn't had sex since that last time before they broke up (when, we assume, she got pregnant), so she never dreamed she was actually pregnant.

She was horrified, we were barhopping and boozing it up every weekend and then some.   Luckily, her daughter is completely fine, a happy healthy, intelligent little girl.

  • I can believe it. Every woman has different cycles and we all know everyone experiences pregnancy differently.

  • She's not posting like a typical troll does... sounds legit to me at this point.  Oddly enough, we just discussed this at my last OB visit.   I can't remember why it came up but the doctor was saying it happens more than you would imagine.

I'd tend to believe posts like this over the other end of the spectrum...  I've seen a few posts lately where the girls are only several weeks pregnant and claim they can feel flutters in their belly.    Ummm...    yeah.

Assuming this is real, good luck to her!  I'm just hitting the halfway point and feel I'm starting to panic that I havn't bought anything yet.   I can't imagine only having a few weeks to plan for and buy all that you need for a little one.

  • I know it happens, but seems so crazy to me. By 3rd trimester my baby was pushing limbs out and there is no way in hell I would have not noticed there was a baby shifting and punching in there. I felt strong kicks by 20wks. Just seems pretty crazy to me to get that far along without knowing something is up with your body.
