1st Trimester

Telling DH tonight - very nervous!

My DH and I have been married for 1 1/2 years - together for 5, and have known each other for 9.

We have talked about having a child together (I have a son from a PR that DH has adopted) - but it has been an attitude of "if it happens, it happens - if it doesn't then it doesn't.

I am super excited that our son will get to be a big brother (he is 8).  I am not sure how DH will take the news though.  He likes having his free time and "extra" cash to go do guy stuff - like hunting trips, camping and trail riding etc.  Another mouth to feed will put a strain on the finances for a while.  I have no doubt he will be happy- just maybe not right away.

His nickname for trail riding is Front Dig.  I have made a onesie that has his team Logo on it.  Above the logo it says "Baby Front Dig" and below the logo it says"Arrival date: October 2013".  I am going to give it to him tonight at dinner along with the BFP.

I am so very nervous!

Anyone else had nerves about telling DH?

Re: Telling DH tonight - very nervous!

  • That's a cute idea. Good luck!
  • I am sure he'll be fine! I was nervous about telling DH too because although we had both agreed to try for #2- he still seems a little less into it than I. But he was excited and shocked and said it felt the same as when I told him about DS.

  • Congratulations, Bliss! Super cute idea. I'm telling my DH today too - tonight during his b-day dinner. Let us know how it goes, I'm sure he'll be thrilled.

  • Awe, congrats and hope telling DH turns out well. I didn't have any stress telling my DH because we tested together. It was nice because I made him look at the test first, and he got all nervous/giddy. :)

No matter what way it happens, it is a great experience.

I wasn't nervous at all.  DH was actually the one who looked at the test first.  We were actively trying to get pregnant though so he wasn't worried about the news, just excited.  GL!

Lol, mine was too! I was too nervous, but he was the excited one!

  • I love this so much!
Best of luck to you. I'm sure he'll be thrilled. :)

I was going to take a pregnancy test about a week before Christmas when my "period started." Turned out it wasn't my period but implantation bleeding!
I had planned to buy DS a t-shirt that said "BIG BROTHER" and let him open it at my husband's family Christmas... but I was mislead and thought I wasn't pregnant!
    So much for that.

I missed my chance to be cute, so PLEASE enjoy this! You rock!
