So, I had a Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy done last Thursday which was a success. My recovery was a week and my Post Op appointment is Feb. 18th. Hopefully, the next step is to get me started on Clomid so I can get prego soon!!! TTC after 35 is not fun
Re: The Next Step....

Tell us about it, yes.....TTCing after 35 is a challenge. Lol. Glad to hear that your surgery was a success.
Best of Luck in getting prego real soon!
Sure! I was nervous too. That's normal but you will be asleep the whole time and you will not feel a thing. My husband said I was in surgery for 3 hours. They removed several polyps from my uterus and found a fibroid the size of a golf ball in my right fallopian tube, which they were surprised to find bc it did not show up in any of the other exams (sono, HSG, etc.)
The recovery is painful but you'll get pain meds which really helped. The first 3 days were tough for me and my DH. When I finally woke up from the anesthesia, my bladder was full of urine and it was very painful. But I had to get up to go to the bathroom and getting up was even more painful. Once I went to the bathroom, the pain was not so bad. The 1st night, I had to get up every hour to go to the bathroom. The 2nd night, it was every 2-3 hours. The 3rd night, it was every 5-6 hours. DH had to get up each time to help me out of bed and walk me to the bathroom bc of the pain. We didn't get much sleep. I did vomit twice which scared me but I think it was from the Oxycodone, which they prescribed for the shoulder pain. You will feel a sudden sharp pain in your right shoulder, it's normal. It's from the Carbon Dioxide they put in you to blow your stomach up so they can get in and see everything better. You will also be bloated, gassy and you will bleed or spot some. You can't shower for 24 hours. I didn't have much of an appetite the 1st day but by day 2, I was craving fried chicken and french fries (LOL So bad!) Poor hubby, with no sleep and constant care of me, the dogs and our house, he went out to get it for me. My mouth was really dry the 1st 3-4 days (they place a breathing tube in your mouth during surgery). So I drank lots of water, ate jello and soup. I have 4 incisions, sealed with surgical glue. It still hurts to laugh, cough or sneeze. But it'll all be worth it real soon, I hope! Good luck with yours in March! Don't worry, you will be ok

BFP = Big fat positive
If you scroll on the left bar all teh way down you will see a bump glossary board, that has proven to be very helpful for me although there are always new ones popping up!!
LOL I did the same for HSG and decided that wasn't going to be me, I was crying by the end and was completely done the rest of the day, oh that one was miserable for me....hence my starting to get uptight about the lap!
I hope clomid is the answer for you! It wasn't for me this last cycle which was 6th time on clomid I didn't respond well at all....but the 5th time I did great!
Just make sure you are being monitored while on clomid, ultra sounds (u/s) to check for cysts and there is a 6 time lifetime max to clomid, just an fyi. After the lap i move onto injectibles.

LOL Thank you for that info! I'll have to check out that glossary and get up to date.
No! Don't get uptight about the lap! Trust me, you will be asleep and not feel a thing What are injectables? Well, I'm not sure clomid is going to work for me. I was just at my post-op appt yesterday and it was not the news I wanted to hear I was told I have scarring on my fallopian tubes that cannot be fixed and may cause interference with us ttc naturally. The doc gave me 2 options: clomid and IVF. I decided to try clomid for 2 cycles and if that doesn't work, I guess my only option is IVF. Needless to say, I broke down crying after I left the office. DH was trying to console me trying to help me look on the bright side that at least, we have "options" but it wasn't what I wanted to hear. I was hoping that after the lap, everything would be cleaned out and back to normal and we'd be able to get PG without the help of any fertility meds. Now I'm just praying we get PG one way or the other.
Good luck with the lap and getting pregos! Let me know how it goes
