We started LO on Gerber Banana Oatmeal in the mornings. My doctor said she could start rice or oatmeal at 4 months, once a day in the mornings (so you know if her tummy can handle it) We will give her the full bottle then give her oatmeal so she can get used to eating with a spoon before she actually switches to solids.
We use Enfamil Gentlease formula and was a little worried about the cereal causing more tummy issues for our little one. We started off with regular rice cereal and she absolutely hated it. We have since switched to rice cereal with apple and she LOVES it. It might take a bit for her/his system to get used to the cereal as in no BM for a few days or so, but it will regulate itself on its own. We had to give her gas drops a few times a day as well. When your LO starts on fruits you can give his/her prunes too.

i did rice for a week and then oatmeal for a couple weeks starting at 4 months (major spitter so we were tyring to help the spitup per my pedi).
at 5 months we started with butternut squash. she wasn't a huge fan and after a few days she had a little rash (may have been a new bubble bath) so i switched to sweet potato. she really likes that. going to try avacado tomorrow and see how that works out.

We just started on the Gerber brand for rice cereal. I don't think LO really likes it but I give him a couple spoon fulls just so he can get used to solids. LO had his 4 month check up earlier this week and she told us to start with that and once we were ready to go to other foods to start off with orange foods first, then green, then fruit. I never heard this with DS1 but she said that some say if you start out with fruits, babies could develop a sweet tooth early on. Plus if you give them the good stuff first, it might be a little harder to get them to like the veggies. I started DS1 with fruits first and I did have a tough time getting him to eat the carrots and peas so we are going to try it out this way.
I started solids right at 4 months with my pedi's consent because of slow weight gain. I started with bananas, then mixed them with oatmeal. I read on KellyMom that bananas were good to start with for a BF baby because they're sweet like breastmilk. He's also had avocados and sweet potatoes. I introduce everything by itself and then add in oatmeal when I see there's no allergic reaction.

We started with oatmeal. I have heard bad things about rice. We did that for a few days and then we tried avocado. This weekend we are going to try sweet potatoes. (I made the food and don't plan to use jar if possible.)

I used Earths best brown rice cereal. DS hated it so we switched him on carrots which he gobbled right up!
This is my siggy. Love it.
My LO loves the Gerber organic oatmeal.
How did you all prepare the avocado?
