PCOS TTC for two years

My husband and i have been TTC for two years now, first year naturally and the second we went to the fertility specialist, i was diagnosed with PCOS, was put on clomid, metformin and had HCG trigger shots for 5 months finally after getting a reaction from my eggs, 2- IUI with no results and after that i was emotionally drained and took a break from the specialist we have spent almost $10,000.00 in the past year for no results at all and its depressing. we chart temps, the OPK's never picks up when i ovulate, i scheduled another yearly check up for the end of this month and hoping my reg. dr can help me out. Im pretty much just looking for anyone else with the same problem and how you are handling it. Goodluck to everyone!!

((Hugs)).  Lots of ladies here with PCOS, including myself, also on Metformin and have taken Clomid/Femara, though not with the Met.  I have seen doctors at three different practices, mainly because I want to get my ovulation/hormone issues under control and treated as opposed to just forging ahead to IVF. 

 

I have done only one IUI before switching to my current Dr. who does not use any ART.  Now my cycles are all out of whack on the Met.  (went from 107 days before the Met kicked in, to only 10 days, and then this time only 5 between "cycles.")  I have no clue what is going on with my body.  Even more confused now and wondering if I am any closer to our baby than when we started with all the specialists over a year ago:(  I have an appointment next week and am hoping to get some answers in the form of bloodwork and/or ultrasounds. 

 

Unfortunately, it seems there are no easy answers, just that you and H have to do what you feel is right for you guys.  For us, that meant not rushing into IVF, if another less invasive treatment could be successful.
