I want to appeal hopefully one last time to you helpful ladies! DH and I have compared lists, eliminated some options, and we still don't really have a solid top 3 or 4 names for DD, due in three months. I know we still have time, but I don't see us making further progress with our current list.
My top two are Tessa and Eliza. He likes Eliza (doesn't love it) and isn't that into Tessa.
His top two are Juliet and Emily. I like Juliet (don't love it, worried about nicknames and rising popularity) and can't get on board with Emily.
Some we've eliminated: Lucy, Molly, Elizabeth, Julia, Clara, Eloise, Charlotte
Still on the list: Tessa, Eliza, Juliet, Emily, Clara, Genevieve - but none are mutually jumping out.
I went through the top 2000 girl names from 2011 and wrote down a few more, none of which we like all that much. My head is spinning from looking at all those names!
Any other suggestions?

My SO didn't like ANY of the names I selected. I got to the point where I just had to stop from even looking at names and chill out for a bit then start talking again. I had the mn picked out, Ann-Marie (combined mn of our mother's) which my SO loved. He finally told me there were 2 names he loved, Ashley and Victoria. I guess my point is to take a step away, relax and then pick up the name game in a few weeks.
FWIW-while I didn't 'love' the names he selected, our dd name is going to be Ashley Ann-Marie and I couldn't be happier. I just love talking to her and calling her by her name and it truly sticks. Our family and friends love it too! I wish you lots of luck
I pretty much like all of your names on your list and your eliminated names. I love PPs suggestion of Eliza Juliet. I met a 6 yo the other night named Eliza and she was so sweet and beautiful.
I really don't have any advice for you. DH and I struggled with girl names because we wanted the perfect one that just felt right. We still didn't have a real list at 29w when DD arrived via emergency c/s. So we had to pick something quick and I wasn't ready. There was one name that we had talked about from the beginning but put aside because of popularity and we just weren't sure. We ended up going with it because it was really the only one we both liked (not loved). I now LOVE it and it's perfect for her. I can't imagine any other name.
Could you pick one or two now and start calling her the name and see if it grows on you? Then do the same with another one or two and see if they just feel like "the one?"
GL with your decision!
On your list my favorite is Clara.
I like both Tessa and Eliza, but they feel like nicknames to me.
Suggestions for you:
Cora
Julianna
Natalie
Eliana
Caroline
Maura
Elise
Gwendolyn
Good luck to you! Names are hard.

I love Juliet! I think it's such a pretty name.
What about Elizabeth - would your husband love that one? That way you could call her Eliza if you wanted to, but he could have the option of using the longer name.
Thanks, all. I like the idea of trying out names for a couple days each and seeing how they feel. We already have two middle name possibilities that aren't on the lists I posted, so even though some of those combinations sound good we're already set for the mn.
Here's hoping one of the names starts to feel right!
