Re: Thursday GTKY
If you are married, what was your wedding like? We got married on a perfectly beautiful day in May and our ceremony was outside in the gardens of our venue. It then moved inside and the place was beautiful with excellent food and an awesome band. Everyone had a great time. My bridesmaids were my sisters, SIL and step daughters and I had them all wear a black dress of their choice. It was perfect because each of their personalities were expressed in the dress they chose, yet they all matched and the red/pink flowers just pulled it all together.
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything? I wouldn't change one thing. In fact, I wish I could re-live that day all over again exactly the way it was.

We were married in a garden at a small villa in Tuscany, Italy. It was small, but perfect for us. We actually had some of the guests of the villa attend! Our wedding party only consisted of my maid of honor and DH's best man. We had ordered a 4 course meal after the ceremony, but the mother of the owner of the villa didn't think it was enough, so she added 3 more courses. I ate so much food that my dress actually burst at the seam! We had such a fabulous time. The weather was absolutely beautiful the entire week we were there.
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?
No way! I loved it!

Thank you!! And yours sounds amazing...would love to see pics! I stayed at a Villa in Tuscany in 1998 and have always wanted to go back. Breathtaking views, the smell of fresh everything all around....the wine...OMG to get married there must have been absolutely beautiful and picture perfect.

If you are married, what was your wedding like?
We got married in the town I grew up in - about 3 hours from where we live now. We had the ceremony at the church and then my grandpa drove us to a park for pictures in his 1928 Packard. Our reception was at a place that's a bakery, restaurant and banquet hall. We had a lot of out of town guests and the hotel was right across the parking lot so we partied really hard.
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?
Honestly no. Part of me has always wanted to get married on a beach somewhere but we can always do a vow renewal. Our wedding was almost 7 years ago and people still talk about how awesome it was and how good the food and cake was (I still dream about it)

If you are married, what was your wedding like? It was in early October and it rained the whole morning until i went to walk outside in my dress. He wore a zoot suit with a chain and my dress was mainly white with black flowers from the bottom up making a beautiful design. My bridesmaids wore black and white dresses. I had roses thatw were almost black they were so red and the other roses were speckled red and blood orange they were beautiful. We wanted our wedding to be close to halloween but sadly we couldn't work out the details. We went on our honeymoon to Mexico it was amazing!!
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything? I would have changed a bridesmaid that I no longer speak to.
If you are married, what was your wedding like? It was amazing. We got married in a garden in June. We had perfect weather and the reception was in the most beautiful ballroom. I really wanted the reception to be like a fun night out for everyone, so we had an awesome band and it was open bar..oh and we had shuttles to bring guests back to their hotels (since it was open bar)
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything? Nothing, it was perfect!
If you had unlimited money to spend on your wedding, how would you do it? I wouldn't change a thing.

Loved our wedding. Wouldn't change a thing (except maybe the rain we had...but, I cant control the weather.) We got married 2 1/2 years ago and had a lovely outdoor wedding at a historic home. Both of our father's did the ceremony. It was short and sweet and us. For the reception, we did homemade desserts and old fashioned games. It was a blast.
If you are married, what was your wedding like? it was in my parent's backyard, my dad has cancer and is in a wheelchair so I wanted to make it easier for him. It was pretty small, we had box cake and dominos. We didn't have a lot of money to work with and wanted to spend more on the honeymoon. Just really laid back and the happiest day of my life.
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything? I wish I had been more calm, I was so nervous cause all eyes were on me.
If you are not married but would like to be someday, what would your wedding be like?
If you had unlimited money to spend on your wedding, how would you do it? probably go somewhere like Hawaii or the Bahamas and do it barefoot on the beach at sunset

If you are married, what was your wedding like?
We got married in early October, it was a very windy day.I remember having to have my veil sewn into my hair. I went nuts trying to find the now popular burnt orange fall color for my bridesmaids dresses. My bridesmaids wore custom made dresses in the style they chose that fit them. It was a perfect day. My dress was a pearl color with a full crystal embroidered top and a lot of detailing through the back and train. So stereotypical, my dress was nothing the normal Jeans and T-shirt girl here would ever have though she would fall in love with.

My father in law was VERY ill. i would have given anything for him to be able to move around, dance and just be more mobile. He sadly passed 6 months after our wedding.

If you had unlimited money to spend on your wedding, how would you do it?
We really wanted to do something in Nevis or Ireland with just close family. But due to my father in laws health we stayed close to home.

If you are married, what was your wedding like? H and I got married at the courthouse. We got engaged in November 2007 and found out we were expecting our first DS in March 2008, so our wedding plans went out the window.
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything? Absolutely. I never envisioned getting married at the courthouse, but at the time, that was best for us [we got married in March 2009]. I obsessed over a "real" wedding for a long time, but now that we've been married almost four years, it doesn't really matter anymore. What matters is that we're married and still in love.
If you are not married but would like to be someday, what would your wedding be like?
If you had unlimited money to spend on your wedding, how would you do it? I'd get married in Hawaii. I have the perfect spot on Maui picked out for it, too. I'd get married there, have a big party and enjoy. I hope to do a vow renewal out there with H someday.

Our wedding was perfect. People thought we were crazy to get married outside in October in Detroit, but when it came to the day it was a beautiful 75 degrees with a picture perfect number of clouds in the sky. We got married in a park my husband liked to visit as a child, by the lake. Everyone had a great time. We had a photo booth at the reception and the pictures were the favors. We were surrounded by family and friends; I can't imagine a better wedding day.
I'd have ordered more beer; we ran out after the cocktail hour and the groomsman had to run out and buy more.
I'd do the same wedding; it would just cost more now. We lucked out on so many things with our wedding. We found our photographer on Craigslist, just starting her business. She now charges about 10x what we paid for the same package (and she brought another fledgling photographer with her). After we booked with our caterer for the venue, they lost their right to cater there; the new company was much nicer, but gave us a deal because we had previously booked with the less expensive company.
This is my favorite photo because it was completely candid, and the photographer just happened to capture everything perfectly, including the random beautiful sail boat in the background.
