High-Risk Pregnancy

An Introduction

I starting having contractions on Sunday when I was 25 weeks gestation. They stopped them but am currently on bed rest. While in L&D my heart started jumping around and actually went into AFib Monday night. I did want to ask my OB but my milestone for now is hitting 30 weeks. I hope this isn't insensitive but what information do some of you ladies have to share about hitting important milestones for gestational development? TIA

Re: An Introduction

  • We are on the same BMB, but I wanted to say welcome. My son was born at 25 weeks and they always acted like getting to 28 weeks was a major goal. Now that I am an RT with NICU experience I think 28 weeks is a wonderful goal, but 32 to 34 weeks really seems to be when you see munchkins thrive more respiratory wise. Of course each baby is different and a preemie, no matter their gestation, needs special care and attention. For me, I just want to get far enough along that my baby girl doesn't need intubated. To avoid the NICU all together would be s dream come true, but honestly I am mentally preparing for it. Read up about preemies. If your lo does come early you will want to know what is going on. Praying that you make it much further and can avoid NICU time.
