Hirschsprung's ?

Hi all, has anyone had a diagnosis of this? Positive outcomes? I'm not sure how to put the link in, but my post from two days ago is at the bottom of the page "formula question- sorry long ".... Lo had an X-ray this morning that showed a large back up in his colon.  We are waiting to here if the pediatric gastroentranologist can get him in yet today. I'm trying to remain calm.   Any positive thoughts would be appreciated!

I don't know anything about that diagnosis.  I just wanted to say I hope everything will be ok!  It's an awful gut-wrenching feeling to think their is anything wrong with you baby.  I'll pray for him.

Get on Facebook and search for support groups.  There are a few of them with tons of members of all ages.  

Good luck!!  I know a very happy, healthy 21 year old boy with it.  There are plenty of happy ending stories out there.  Just try to connect with them through social media like FB.

It's not a bad diagnosis. It just means the colon doesn't have all the nerves to move poop through normally. The only symptom is usually constipation. To make the diagnosis, it usually means taking biopsies so that can be scary but it's very safe. Then if the biopsies confirm the diagnosis, it may mean surgery but it may not. A lot of kids just have bad constipation and are never diagnosed

Btw, I'd be interested to know if your LO does have it... Just curious if I was right just based on your last post.

I'll update when we get some more info.  I appreciate your feedback on the previous post though.  I knew something wasn't right.  The doctor had mentioned Hirschsprung's but didn't think that was the case as Lo is growing well and appears healthy in examination.  I think the doctor who looked at the xray was astonished today though.  We have not heard yet when we will see the gastroenterologist.  Our doctors office is pressing for 48 hours, but it is an extremely specialized group with hundreds waiting to be seen.  Thanks for the good thoughts and I will try to update after we have more info, or get an official diagnosis.
