For Fun: name my phantom DD (CP)

So today could be a bit more exciting... I'm up for a game: name my phantom DD (DD, because I have far less options for a DS) :)

Opinions, suggestions and criticism are most welcome (no need for puppies, rainbows and glitter farting unicorns).

  • Oops, I clicked on Lou, but meant to click on Josephine.

    My opinion: Nice list!

-Love Josephine Olivia, and really like Emilia Sophie.

-Lou Matilda is okay, but I would like Lou better if it was a nn for a longer name such as Louisa. Though, I don't think Louisa Matilda flows that well!

-Wilhelmina Louis is my least fave, but it's still okay. I never really noticed before that it is spelled with that "l" in the middle... always thought it was Wilhemina.  You say it as if it doesn't have that "l", right?

That's the only vote for Lou so far! :) I actually would prefer a more formal name for Lou as well, I'm just not sure which one. Louisa would be the obvious choice, but there's also Luana, Eloise and Lilou. So I put Lou on there to see what the general feelings about it are and it's not going over well. :) I like Louisa Madeleine, because like you say, Louisa Matilda doesn't have the best flow.

Wilhelmina is my late grandmother's name. She passed away recently and I would like to incorporate her name/use her name as a fn for a future DD. I know of 4 versions of the name: Wilhelmina, Willemina, Willemien and Willemijn. Wilhelmina comes from the German Wilhelm, Willemina (as well as Willemien and Willemijn) comes from the Dutch Willem. The 'German' Wilhelmina was very popular in the Netherlands at the start of the 20th century (until about 1950), because it was the name of the Dutch queen at that time. Wilhelmina is pronounced with the 'l' in the middle Will-hell-mee-na.

    * My grandmother is from the 1920's, but she was named after her grandfather and not the queen ;)
