I have both the summer infant swaddle pod and a pack of aden + anai swaddle blankets on our list.
I had heard the a+a blankets were amazing for swaddling, especially a summer baby because of the material, so I plan on getting those. I guess my question is, would you get the pod on top of those? I know baby won't be able to use the pod for long, has anyone used the pod before?
With M we had this awesome stretchy, double layer cotton blanket that was specifically meant for swaddling, I think it's a Child of Mine by Carter's one ($10 at walmart). I'll probably grab another one of those but because it was on the thicker side, I feel like it will be too hot for baby once summer temps kick in. So I'm looking for other options.
Re: WWYD Swaddle Pod
We had and used the summer infant swaddles until my son was almost 9 months old, we stopped using once he started to roll, he was a very late roller. He loved to be swaddled and these were great since he couldn't break free. This time around I plan on getting some of the AA blankets but will definitely being using the standard swaddles as well.
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
When DS was teeny tiny, we used regular receiving blankets. After a month or so, we switched to the Summer Infant SwaddleMe sleep sacks. DS loved it. We will definitely use the Sleep Sacks again.
Personally, I like the sleep sacks or pods better than blankets. I thought it was easier to put together, and DS rarely broke out of it.
I'm going to get a Swaddle Pod this time, just to try it out. We used Swaddle Mes for a little while, and also the A&A blankets, but it was just too hot and DS just broke out of them anyway. Now we have a/c, so we'll need something, and the pods look really easy to me.
The A&A blankets are just great in general, though - I used them as a drape over the car seat when we were out in the sun because they are light and breathable, and actually big enough.
I loved the SwaddleMes but not the SwaddleMe Pod. They fit DD funny so she could always free herself-even in the smaller sizes.
DD slept in the SwaddleMe and at first when I was trying to get BFing down, I would put her in one to contain her arms!
