My son is 9 1/2 months old and it's a battle almost every meal getting him to eat anything other than stage 2 baby food. He is very funny about textured foods. I can't get him to eat hardly any stage 3 baby foods and I've tried regular banana and he won't eat it. But he will eat puffs and yogurt melts like crazy. Any suggestions?
Re: Textured and table food
Keep offering a variety of foods. At first, DS just kind of played around with the foods I offered, but then he started to try them and now can't get enough.
Is it possible he has a hard time holding the food? For us, the turning point was the day I gave him a half a waffle, not cut up or anything. He loved it and did a lot better than I thought he would.
I agree with pp about having trouble feeding himself; Shawn had the worst time getting food to his mouth until I started leaving it all bigger. Also, have you tried avocado? I just scoop it right on LOs tray for him to eat, or sometimes I will spoon feed him right out of the skin if I want to stay a little less messy. Broccoli worked well too as far as him being able to hold the stalk and eat the top.
Good luck!
Thanks for yalls response. I did give him some cut green beans today he eat several pieces but when he's done he's done. I have tried avocado but I smashed it up and he ate about 2 bites and was done. I going to keep trying but it's very frustrating because I can't get him to eat much right now.
