any PA mommies?

I work in PA but live in NJ. I wondering how early you can be written out for disability? My doc said she thought it was at 38 weeks they could sign me out early (she wasn't very clear). In NJ however, they can write you out at 36 weeks.

Does anyone have any idea or any experience in HR? If it makes a difference, I have MetLife STD Insurance through my employer.

I live in Western PA. If you have a medical reason you can go on STD, (through my company we go through Harleysville) at anytime when the dr writes an excuse and fills out the proper paperwork. We only get 12 weeks either way so personally I would rather try to go up until the baby is born if possible so I can spend the 12 weeks with the baby. BUT if it was medically necessary I can go on leave anytime.
