Apologies if this has been discussed on my mobile and didn't notice any recent posts.
Doctor just called to say I could potentially be a carrier of Tay Sachs according to my blood work they are checking a few more things. If so my husband will be tested. I have my next appointment on Tuesday the 5th I feel like this has just given me one more thing to worry about!
Of course trying to stay positive did a quick search to see statistics etc. not a good thing to research at work! Not helping my week get better after my big fall yesterday when running goodness.
Re: Tay Sachs?
I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry yet. You will know for sure once more testing is done, and you won't change your genes by worrying.
Does your husband have Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry as well? I ask because I am a carrier for a genetic disorder, but my husband is of a different ethnicity, so there was almost no chance he was a carrier. We got tested anyway, but I was able to stay calm because he had such a low chance of being a carrier.

We are pretty certain that be does not have that Jewish ancestry in him, however, at our initial appt the fact that he is French Canadian did put up a red flag for the doctor thinking he could potentially be a carrier.
We will just have to wait and see and pray for the best!

People of French Canadian descent can also be carriers. I know this bc MIL is 100% French Canadian which made us nervous but I am of neither descent.
