These are beautiful pictures.  I personally don't want pictures during my birth.  But some of those are amazing!

Our doula takes pictures immediately after birth. I'm kind of excited about this, but they're probably not be shared with anyone. Or put on the interwebz.

Ok, for some reason I was thinking newborn pictures when I opened this.  Maybe I should have realized.  I think this is deserving of an NSFW tag.  Not that it's obscene at all, just, you know, NSFW.

some of those are a little too graphic for me but to each their own

this is my first pregnancy so i've never been in labor but i can't imagine being to terribly thrilled about a photographer in my face during labor...but that's just me.

I had a birth photographer with DD and the pictures are my most treasured tangible thing.  I'm going to save every penny to hopefully hire someone again.

I'm not talking crotch pictures people, give me a break. 

ETA: A good photographer will do a good job and keeping angles and lighting flattering when you are a sweaty mess.

I think they are beautiful. I don't know if I would be interested in doing these types of photos though.

Totally NMS, but to each their own. 

I had a co-worker who had a water birth a few years back and her husband sent out some photos to a pretty larger group of people (myself included) that showed naked breasts and some pretty intimate moments.  I knew the woman for a year max - I thought that was pretty inappropriate.

Some of those are really beautiful, others are just.... no.  I could have lived without seeing that c-section picture.

I'd rather spend my money on useful baby items and let the nurse snap a couple pics.

I absolutely love birth photography. Seeing the 1st moment of mother with child makes me tear up every time at the look of pure love and joy. That being said, I think a few of those pictures should have been kept private and not shared in a public contest. I've been debating hiring a birth photographer, I totally would, but I don't think h would like the idea. Like pp said a good photographer would know the appropriate angles and light to use to catch the beauty of the event.

FTR: I'm on the fence about a birth photographer. I doubt the hubby would go for it, though.
