in L&D --- one cm diaIated at 29 weeks

I posted earloer about cramping and they just didn't stop and were getting more frequent. I called my doctor and she said to come in.

They gave me a steroid shot and started me on magnessium. The crampy feeling seems to have stopped but belling is still tightening. I guess we are in wait and see mode.

My mom is flying on tomoRrow. I'm really scared and praying I can keep these babies in as long as possible.

I was admitted to l&d at 27wks for cervix shortening and contractions. I was in the hosp for 4 days and got steroids and mag. I was released to bed rest for 10 wks. It is possible, even if it is scary, to keep those babies cooking!

Good luck I was admited at 27 weeks at 1 1/2 dilated got mag and steroids I was sent home 3 days later and on bed rest. I was on bed rest till 32 weeks so 5 weeks and carried them till 35w3d. Good luck and try to get lots of rest.

I am so sorry you're going through this.

I went into PTL at 28w1d and was 3cm dilated by the time I made it to the hospital. Mag stopped my productive contractions and I was able to get both steroid shots. I spent 11 days on hospital bedrest before I again went into labor and delivered at 29w4d. My boys were born weighing 2lbs13oz and 3lbs3oz. They spent 2 months in the NICU. I won't lie, it was tough. But at almost 10m old my boys are doing absolutely fabulous. They're hitting most milestones at their actual age. A recent picture is in my siggy. As of right now they have no residual issues due to their premature birth. My oldest is in a helmet to correct a flat spot, but it's not related to prematurity. I started to go into PTL at 23 w and made it to 34 w on bed rest. I had a lot of scares inbetween, but I still managed to hold out for 11 weeks. It's not impossible! Hang in there, mama. (hugs)

Sending you tons of thoughts and prayers! I will be thinking about you today so please update and let us know how you are doing when you can. I was dilated to 1cm at 29 weeks placed on modified bed rest until 32 weeks with no further progress. I did end back up in L&D at 33 weeks and 5 days having contractions but that was due to pre-e symptoms and a UTI but with bed rest I am still cooking these boys and I am now 36 weeks and 4 days!

Sending T&Ps! I am confident with bedrest and the care you are getting that you will be able to keep them in. There are many girls that have been 1cm at your stage and carried well into the third tri. Stay in babies!
