So I didn't get newborn pictures done with Lily, but I am with this next LO. I can't wait. I know I have a lot of time, but I have been thinking of some ideas. So DH is in law enforcement, I and would like to get some picture done with his work stuff. He doesn't wear a hat, he has a badge and handcuffs though. Would it be totally wrong to put his gun in the picture? Not sitting on the baby or anything, but I was thinking of laying his duty belt down then putting baby in the middle. The gun would be in the holster. Is that still wrong?
Also, I'd imagine that as part of your DH's job duties, he must keep at least the gun (and maybe the cuffs too) secured. If so then taking pics with them unsecured would be a very bad idea for him workwise if anyone ever saw the pics and reported it.
My husband is a police officer as well, I would suggest maybe swaddling the baby in one of his shirts, perhaps the handcuffs, and possibly a batton/night stick. I think the gun might be pushing it a little.
I googled "Newborn Police Photography" and a lot of great options came up.

Re: Newborn Pictures
I understand your intentions, but nooooooo! Innocent little baby next to a gun or handcuffs screams all kinds of wrong to me.
I like the idea of the badge and the boots that PP suggested.
Everything Nicole said.

Those are some great ideas! I definitely wouldn't do the gun, there are a lot of other ways you could incorporate the police theme.
I would see about looking for a knit/crochet Police hat if YH doesn't have one. It would be a cute keepsake to have.
Also, no to the gun and cuffs.
Agree with all the pp's! No gun and no cuffs. It's just...wrong.
I love the idea of taking a picture with a hat or his badge, etc.
yes....very disturbing.
