Perks of Work - Heartbeat!

I work in a clinic and was super sneaky today.  I have my 1st appointment with midwife next week but I turned a corner a couple of weeks ago with pregnancy symptoms and have been feeling great.  In my mindset of previous loss and IF I surely thought something must be wrong and it's been killing me waiting for that appointment.

So I took it upon myself to discreetly borrow the doppler in clinic. I went into a room by myself and gooped my lower pelvis up with gel and probed around.  I didn't even know if I was doing it right but then I heard it!  The heartbeat was SO strong and so fast I couldn't even count it!  I am so relieved and thrilled and can finally start to embrace this as a healthy, viable pregnancy and it feels amazing!

    I just bought a doppler and can't find it at all! I'm not freaking out or anything, I know it just means I didn't find it (rather than OMG ITS NOT THERE ANYMORE).

    Now, give me a tortoise and a doppler, I can find his heart beat, no problem. Give me a ferret and I can tell you which cardiac valve isn't functioning properly. (I worked exotic veterinary medicine for years if you couldn't tell)
