And what are you skipping for #2? We've decided not to buy another crib. I've got an Arm's Reach that will work for the first 6 months, and I ended up cosleeping a lot early on last time. I'm going to buy a twin bed for the baby room instead and when s/he needs a crib, DS1 should be old enough to give his up.
Still working on what else to keep an eye out for. I might upgrade the stroller to a sit-n-stand, but we nearly never used a stroller with #1 so I'm not sure if I should bother.
Re: What's on your shopping list for #2?
a double stroller(most likeyly sit to stand)
a cradle swing (we just had a back and forth one and DS hated it!- Im going to try and look for one secondhand)
a chest of drawers and a toddler bed. (We will have to have DS and new baby room share, so we need another dresser and a toddler bed for DS- hoping he's ready for one, or else we'll have to get another crib)
Thats it! Hopefully!
I also needed a new breast pump so I bought the Medela pump in style on sale almost half off a few weeks ago.
I think those are the only big purchases I will be making. I'm not buying a new crib because we plan to move DS to a bed before the baby gets here. I have pretty much everything else already.
If its a girl, I'll need to go clothes shopping.
I'm hoping to get a new wrap or baby carrier because I never really liked my Moby, so I ended up wearing #1 less than I would have liked.
Other than that, I'm really hoping to keep new stuff to a minimum. My house is too full already!

a maya sling wrap... i have an ergo but didnt really like it much until DS was bigger. i think a ring sling would be much better for an infant, and for the ease of nursing in the sling.
other than that... clothes if its a girl!
A few small things like new bottle nipples and valves, bibs, pacis, clothes, etc.
Most of what we need is for #1. We're going to move him into a new room with a twin bed, new dresser, etc. The plan is for #2 to inherit the nursery including the crib. Hopefully #1 will be ready to transition to the twin bed around his 2nd birthday, but if not, we'll have to buy another crib which I really don't want to do.
I am hoping to get away with not buying a double stroller. We barely ever used our stroller with #1, so I just don't think it will be worth it.

Not number 2 but number 3, and not much!
If you didn't use a stroller much with 1, I would skip it with 2 and then if the issue actually occurs, buy a 2 seater then.
I want to buy a Ergo (for when it's older), baby k'tan ( secure and easy to nurse in), and some cloth diapers maybe. A good high chair, like a solid wood one or something not made of plastic and has 60000 cracks. Clothing I'm going to wait on, we aren't doing a nursery for this one so there's no big furniture to get. I haven't decided between a swing or a bouncer, I've yet to have a kid who liked the swing though so I'm leaning towards bouncer.
I have a billion blankets from the current kiddos, but I still really want some aden and anais blankets. Or at least their new mama sized one
We actually just got his big boy bed. A step 2 race car bed that retails for over 200 but we got it off Craigslist for 40!!! Yay! We are hoping it is cool enough for him to want to ditch the crib early!
I'm not sold on the double stroller yet. I am going to get a better carrier for this baby and see how that works.
Maybe a double stroller, DD refuses to be in the stroller these days so I don't know if we'd really use it that much though it would be so much easier if we could put them both in there.
Mostly, we'll just be buying big kid stuff for DD: DD will need a toddler bed so that baby can have the crib, we'll need to buy her a booster seat for the dining room table so baby can use the highchair, one of them will need a dresser.
We made sure all the big stuff was gender neutral so we'll be reusing just about everything else.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I'm hoping to do more baby wearing with this LO. IDK what kind of carrier I want yet, but that's one thing I'm buying. I might get a double stroller, but only if I get a good deal on one. I'll need a bed for DD so this LO can have the crib. That's all I can really think of. We were team green with DD, so we don't even need clothes for the first 6 months or so- I have tons of neutral stuff.
ETA: I guess I'll have to add a few cloth diapers to my stash as well, but not many. DD only uses 5-6 a day now.
This is me too. #3 was a complete (though wanted) surprise. I gave a way all my baby stuff 2 years ago, which is actually no big deal since it would be expired by now anyway. I'm going to cut way back on what I plan to get compared to what I had for the first two. I'm also getting some things from my SIL who is due 5 months before me.

We are going to get a double stroller for sure. I go for walks a lot with DS, and I plan to do so when #2 arrives. We're looking at getting the Graco Quattro Tour Duo. I just want to find it on Craigslist. I don't think we'll go for a Sit and Stand. DS will still be young when #2 arrives (21 months) so I don't know if he'll be comfortable in a Sit and Stand for long walks or trips.
We definitely need a new cradle mattress. We plan on using the cradle as a co-sleeper this time. We barely used it last time (because we didn't have the right size mattress) but hope to this time.
We aren't sure about toddler bed vs crib for DS. DS will likely share a room with #2 due to our housing set up, so #2 will be in our room for a while. DS might be ready for a toddler bed at that point, but I worry he would be too tempted to get out of bed and wake the baby. DS is also a thrasher when he sleeps so I have a feeling he'll be in the crib for a while. We'll make the decision when the time comes
I definitely want to get more Sleep Sacks. I loved them with DS but he wore them out completely.
I'm also considering a new diaper bag, but this is more of a want than a need. I would like a larger and more organized one for when #2 arrives!
Other than baby stuff, we want to get more shelving and re-do the closet in DS's/#2's room. We need to have better organization and be able to store more stuff in there!
This is us too!
This is number 3 (DD is 6 and son will be 5). We have literally nothing. No swing, crib, stroller, carseat. We will need it all.
We are getting DS a twin bed and giving LO all the baby furniture/crib.
Even though DS is fine with or without a stroller, I want to get a double stroller. Reason being is I can only imagine DS on a sit and stand, then wanting to run around, me running after him, etc.! I want both kids to be buckled in so that I don't have to worry about it.
I also plan on getting new bedding for LO, just because new sheets will be nice. I'll get sheets, crib skirt, blanket, and a breathable bumper. I used to think that I wouldn't mind using DS's baby bedding and decor for LO but I want the baby to have his/her own identity in that room. Never thought I'd care about this so much, but I do!
If its a girl, lots of girl clothes. If its a boy, he will use DS's clothes.
I will use the same bottles, but will get new nipples, in addition to new pacifiers.
Hope that helps!

I wish I would have gotten a wood high chair for DS. I have a fisher price one that is a *** to keep clean. This is my last baby so I'm going to suck it up and keep using this one, but can't wait to have it out of my house!!! If I find a cheaper wooden one maybe I can junk the plastic one sooner...
Good advice!
