So I'm over 20 wks pregnant and I still haven't been able to feel the baby move through my skin.
When did you feel LO move through your skin (pressing your hand into your belly)?
I am kind of paranoid it's because I am chubbier. I started this pregnancy 10 lbs heavier and it was all in my tummy - I used to be a 10/12 and started this pg as a 14.
With LO, my DH felt the baby move at just over 15 weeks! I know that is insanely early, but it was just a matter of the perfect moment - it was a few weeks after that before he felt her again.
I can feel this LO moving around, but the movement is a LOT more subtle. I am actually wondering if the placenta is attached in front because of how subtle it is.
Re: Over 20 wks and still can't feel through skin
I bet you'll be feeling this LO from the outside pretty soon.
I'm pretty sure it was well after 20 weeks. I can't remember exactly. I wouldn't be worried. I think even the inside movements were still pretty small, too.
Around 20 weeks, but barely able to feel it. Hubby couldn't really feel till later than that.
FWIW, my friend had an anterior placenta with all 3 of her kids and pretty much NEVER felt them move!!!! Which is bizarre to me- you could see my belly move like Alien even through my clothes!
Oh yes, all of this! I wouldn't be worried.
Thanks everyone! Everything has looked great at our u/s (my Dr. does one every visit), so I'm not worried, just more so impatient.
Oh, and kind of beating myself up for starting this pg at a higher weight. I always vowed I wouldn't do that but well, here we are!
Thanks again!
I had an anterior placenta with J and I didn't feel him outside until about 26weeks and H only felt him a few times the whole pregnancy. He was really far back too. I was also significantly smaller than the other ladies in our birth class. I never did kick counts b/c I couldn't feel enough.
It was amazing how different it was with K and a posterior placenta. I seriously didn't understand what all the hype was the first time b/c I couldn't feel what other women felt.
Do you know where the placenta is attached?
Mine was on the front, so I didn't feel the movement till 23-25 weeks really.
