I really don't care about the boy-names-for-girls thing. It's not my style, but whatever. Of the trendiest trends out there, it is not one of my top three pet peeves. As long as you understand the potential annoyances associated with having an opposite-gender name, do what you like.
That said, I don't particularly like Dylan for a boy or a girl. But heck, yesterday I met a girl named Randall, so it's not the worst one out there.
I'm typically not a fan of boy names on girls or even unisex names (also, nicknames or calling your child something else other than the first name...just my preference).
I met a girl with this name yesterday, and I can't seem to get it out of my head.
TTC #1 for over 5 years - too many to count IF treatments (tried everything and anything), repeat miscarriages.
Finally, Sticky Success!! B/G Twins arrived 2011.
I don't find Dylan a very masculine so I don't mind it on a girl

My nephew is Dylan so I am used to it as a boy name. I do know a girl Dillon and always thought it was cool when I heard Dylan Lauren, Ralph Lauren's daughter Dylan who owns Dylan's Candy Bar. Only thing is lots of people will obviously automatically assume boy.
I'm a Jayme "was born on my grandpas birthday so was named after him" and ended up dating a Jamie "boy" for 4 years. I could see this happening with a Dylan too... It's just more of a boys name to me

Re: Dylan - for girl
It's a boy name.
To me, it's like naming your daughter Josh or something. I (probably wrongly) assume when I meet girls with boy names that their parents wanted a boy.
I personally do not like boy names on girls.
Are you looking for a unisex name? There are plenty of those out there that are nice, solid names.
