who cares?!

does anyone actually care if beyonce was lip syncing? I feel like I've heard about it since Monday, it's wednesday people... I think beyonce has proven herself, it's not like she's milli vanilli or something

Re: who cares?!

  • If only Beyonce lip syncing was the worst thing we had to worry about, I think we'd be doing ok.

    No, I don't care.

Also, it was frakking freezing outside and she was expected to belt that out?

I mean, I can't carry a tune in a freaking bucket but even I know that is sort of unreasonable.

and what if she had a cold/sore throat etc... on top of the weather.

To answer the original question, yeah I actually do care.  But that's also because I can't stand her, I don't think she's that great, and there are much better performers and trained musicians out there that would've been able to do a better job and sing it live.

I fully admit that I am extremely fussy when it comes to the National Anthem, and would much rather hear really good musicians sing it straight than listen to some of these pop singers diddle around with it and even eff up the words like some have done in the past.

Surprise *gasps* BK everyone says you're so nice... Beyonce doesn't think so.

    Wink

  • Whitney Houston's National Anthem performance was one of her best and biggest sold singles, and it was known to be lip synced. Do what you gotta do, Beyonce!

  • You're singing for the President of the United States.  I think it was a poor choice on her part to fake it.

  • I sorta care.  I feel like it's an honor to sing the nation anthem so you roll the dice and take the chance.  Not pre-record it.  I do think she is talented though.

Yeah, but that was the Super Bowl.

    US President > Super Bowl

Yeah, it's the President. Just sing.

I've read that it could have been risky to sing. It's not an easy song, and with the cold, it could cause damage to vocal cords. It is an honor to sing for him, of course. But if there were major concerns about safety or being in tune with the weather? I don't think Obama cares.

  • Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor performed live.

  • It's really not unusual for singers to lip sync the national anthem in big venues like that, or a football/baseball stadium, etc. I don't care.

  • Do I care? No.

It does make me lose a little respect for her. I have beef with artists that lip sync, if you're only good in the studio then you probably shouldn't be making millions. I do think she has a strong voice so I'm going to give her a pass.

  • No.  Singers do it all the time.

  • Apparently the band that accompanied her, US Navy? maybe?, was also prerecorded. But nobody is making a big deal out of that.

Honestly though, I don't care either.
