Front page on CNN there's a headline that says, "Temperatures dip below zero in Minnesota, North Dakota".
Where I grew up in New York, it'd rarely go above 10 degrees in Jan and Feb, so dipping below zero was very common.
I was under the impression that Minnesota and North Dakota were even colder. Is dipping below zero really headline worthy?
Re: Is this really news?
Ah, okay. It's a bit warmer there than I thought.
I had oatmeal. Who should we call to make sure this is covered appropriately in the papers?

Now, I've never felt that kind of cold, but from when I worked at barns, I remember thinking that once you hit negative temps there wasn't a lot of difference in the cold. I mean, wind makes a difference, but I felt like my body couldn't tell the difference between negative five and negative twenty. Once my nose hairs freeze, I no longer register temp changes.
I think I agree. Barring the wind and snow whipping your face, if it's -20 it might as well be -30.

I live in North Dakota and no I do not find this "news". It is winter and it is cold in the winter!!! Yes the temps this week/week-end are slightly below normal but we have had colder temps. I think they did not have anything better to report. I HATE when they report crap like this because people already have crazy opinions on people who live up here and this just makes it worse!!
