Timing sex w/IUIs

I'm just wondering what your RE has you do as far as timing sex prior to the IUI.

Since we have MFI, he suggests sex the night of trigger, then skipping a day, then sex the night of the IUI. 

If you don't have MFI issues, do you just have sex every day leading up to the IUI?

We aren't dealing with MFI but most re's will say that they want a sample after obstaining for 2-5 days. We usually had sex the day of trigger, morning or daytime before trigger at night, and nothing until after IUI.

We have MFI.  Our RE said 2-5 days.  With the first IUI it was 2 days and with the 2nd it was 4.  We had a far better post wash motile count with the 4 days, but obviously I cannot for sure attribute that to the abstaining time frame.  Good luck!

Since we are MFI and our S/As have always been better than our IUI samples I wondered if it was partially due to only 36 hours between sex and sample for IUI where as for S/As it's usually 60 hours between last sex and sample.  So since today DH has the day off work for MLK day, we did it as soon as we got word that I'm triggering tonight.  (About 8:30am) and he needs to deliver his sample at 10:30am on Wednesday, so it will be 50 hours.  I think this is better for us, but I guess I will see Wednesday if there is improvement.

FX this makes the difference for you!  Our motile count after 2 days (not sure how many hours) was 6.5 million.  It was 28.5 million after 4 days.  Granted neither was successful, but it was a huge difference!

We don't have MFI but our RE suggests 3-5 days before, though I know it's hard to guess when ovulation will be sometimes.

We're supposed to abstain 3-5 days prior.

ETA: This time (IUI was today) it was 6 days and we had 8 million. Last time it was 3 days, but we only had 7 million.

I hate MFI!

We don't have MFI, they wanted DH to abstain for 3-5 days before first IUI sample, we had consecutive day IUI so we were told to have sex the day after the 2nd, I got really sick so we didn't. The night I triggered, we obviously didn't BD because husband had to abstain.

On this cycle we had sex the day before the trigger, obstained for 2 full days did the IUI and had sex that night and the next night!
