Baby Names

Pregnancy is 40 weeks long so that...

We have time to name our children!

With DD we had the right name right away and never looked back once we knew the sex.  This time  we're having a really hard time finding anything that sounds right. We wanted to use the initials JD to honor a family member but haven't found anything we loved.

So we both spent the last week coming up with a list of 15 names and played a game. We took turns picking (like dodgeball!) and each got 3 vetoes. What do you think of these names? Any good first middle combos? Any other suggestions? DD is Isla Rose and last name ends in t and also has an -er sound so names with those names are out.

  • I'm not a fan of Harriet but I absolutely adore Hattie Mae!

I love Jonah, Jack, and Solomon.

I like Samson, Abraham, Judah, and Noah.

    The rest are NMS

DH is pushing hard for this combo! It was his number one choice from the start. I'm LOVING seeing all these combinations. It's really overwhelming having so many things to choose from, but I've settled on the fact that nothing is just going to sound "right" this time, so hopefully some of these combos wilL grow in me.

  • You have Otis and Otto backwards.  Otto is the formal name, and Otis is the NN.  Just a heads up.  I'm not opposed to reverse NNs, but I just thought I'd say something.

Thanks! Otis was actually one of DH's picks, and I'm not a huge fan of Otis, but I do like Otto. That helps me, as I'd rather have Otto as the formal name! He had a Grandpa Otis who always went by Otis and had Otis as a formal name so I wasn't aware.
