  • I am sorry for your loss. I had a cerclage placed at 13 weeks and I am so glad I did. Good luck and prayers for a happy and healthy pregnancy.

  • First i'd like to say that I'm so sorry for your loss. I am extremely happy that you have decided to try again. It takes courage and can be so scary. I lost a baby girl last year April due to incompetent cervix and short cervix at 22 weeks. My new doc is taking no chances after I told him how devastated I was. I got the cerclarge at 10 weeks because I was already shortening. Nearly nothing to stitch. The original plan was to be off bedrest after 2 week, but after good results with bedrest he continued to recommend bedrest. I'll probably be spending the entire pregnancy in bed. Not fun at all. But my experience is pretty extreme. I've seen ladies on the HR and PGAL board coming off bedrest after a cerclarge. Some r put back on bedrest later in the pregnancy but everyone is different.Ask about the preventable cerclarge in the first trimester. I've read that they are more successful.Take it really easy in your pregnancy even with the cerclarge. Use that belly to your advantage. Ask for help. Don't try to do everything yourself, especially when your approaching 18 to 22 weeks when baby is getting bigger. And if you are a praying person make sure you do lots of that. I'll be praying for you and all the other moms anyway. I wish you all the best and a little rainbow at the end.

  • Thanks ladies for the words of encouragement and positivity
  • I lost a baby boy in 2011 at 22w due to IC and PTL. I now have a healthy baby girl thanks to a cerclage and lots of bed rest 21 weeks!. Miracles can happen.

I'm sorry for your loss. Having a rainbow baby doesn't take the pain away but she does give me new reasons to smile.
