I've always thought Fiona's a beautiful name! It makes me think a little bit of Shrek since that movie came out, but I don't see that being too much of a concern for your child's generation
Met my soul mate October 2011 ~ Married August 2012

i think it's pretty. i think it's feminine. i like it when it is attached to a person, but when i hear the name spoken on its own, i do actually think about shrek.
I live in Scotland and know a lot of Fionas, they are all late 20s early 30s, and virtually all go by Fi (pronounced Fee). I think it's a great name and due for a come back on this side of the pond.
However, if you are looking for a "unique" name, Fiona may or may not fit your needs depending on where you live. It's a top-100 name where I live and top-150 in a lot of the Northeast and the Pacific NW.
I do love it. I think its a beautiful name, it was always one of my favorites...and then Shrek came out and I couldnt see naming my beautiful daughter after an ogre so it was off the list.
Sept 2013 started TTC#2 (never got PP period so hoping for the first egg to drop)
Jan 2014 - diagnosed POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and told pregnancy not possible without egg donor because my ovaries would never function again with my hormone levels (FSH 136, LH 98.6, AMH <.03, estradiol 0, HCG 7) - using acupuncture, chiropractic care and TCM herbs / supplements
March 11, 2014 ovulated despite every doctors prognosis!!!
Oct 2014 hormones (FSH 48, Estradiol 89, HCG 1) not good, but heckuva lot better!
Nov. 16, 2015 FET of single adopted 5AA embryo - BFN

It's pretty enough, but I can't say I would ever use it.
I think it's a nice name that although familiar is not used to death, which I would see as a plus.

I like it! My only issue would be that she would possibly get called FiFi, which reminds me of a cat.
Love it!
DH nixed it b/c of the Shrek reference

I love Fiona.
I don't think it's unique though. I know 3 IRL.
