Leaving DDs First Home

So DH and I are moving closer to the base where we work and I am irrationally sad to leave DDs first home, even if it's just an apartment. I will forever remember taking her home from the hospital and spending my maternity leave with her in this little apartment, along with the first months of her life, the best months of my life so far.

Sorry for this being random, but I figured I was in good company. Thanks ladies

Re: Leaving DDs First Home

  • I completely understand! We lived in a crummy house that was literally falling apart before we moved. I was so glad to be getting into a better place but I was actually pretty sad leaving a place where I had such great memories. Mathieu was 1.5yrs old when we moved.

Now that we have gotten so settled and have much more memories its not so sad any more! :)

  • It's a big step! We moved in with my parents when DD was a week old. We made the move because DH started a new job and it was way too far to commute. I'm sad we only had a week in our apartment, I loved that place.

  • Right there with ya. We have to give up our apartment at the end of April and I'm already sad about leaving it! She won't remember her beautiful nursery!

Eff I just realized I never took a picture of the nursery with her hand painted letters and her glider, and we already took apart her room. Crap.

  • I feel ya. I feel really, really bad about leaving. We're already in Ohio but our apartment back in Chicago has a new renter moving in on the 19th now. I feel so bad about leaving this place that we were in for 4 years and she was in for 4 months. I get sad about it every night.
