I know that banks are closed, my sis works at one and she is off.  I do believe it is considered a legal holiday.

Most banks (although the drive thru at my bank is open from 745-3p) and any & all gov't agencies (both state & federal).

I think all stores are open - at least I hope so, I have off and plan to go shopping!

You will find banks are closed, the post office will be closed and all state and federal buildings will be closed.  I don't think any retail stores will be closed.  In fact, I bet most will have great sales going on for Veteran's Day.
