Trouble TTC

Consult about Initial Labwork tonight-what to expect?

Did your RE give you a breakdown of numbers and whats normal/what your numbers are, or more just an interpretation of what your numbers suggest? Thanks!
Our Novel of TTC:

*Male Factor (low count and low motility), High Prolactin, and Polycystic Ovaries (March 2013)
*Recurrent Miscarriage testing also revealed high anti-phospholipids & single MTHFR mutation. (Feb 2014)

*IVF (07/2013): BFP-Natural Miscarriage @ 5 weeks* <3 Madison Riley <3
*FET #1 (10/2013): BFN
*FET #2 (12/2013)- BFP-Missed Miscarriage at 8 weeks <3 Kyle Andrew <3
*Chromosomes and Karotyping tests were both normal. We lost a healthy baby boy :(
*FET #3 (04/2014) was cancelled after finding Chronic Endometritis
*Miraculous BFP July 2014!! (I was taking baby aspirin and Cabergoline to stay regulated while "taking a break from TTC" and waiting to consult with a reproductive immunologist!!!)

Our healthy baby girl was born 03/10/15 thanks to daily Lovenox injections and baby aspirin. There are no words for how grateful I am for our rainbow baby. <3

Re: Consult about Initial Labwork tonight-what to expect?

  • All of my results are posted on an online portal, with my numbers given and then the lab's normal range provided as reference. My doctor also then includes a note. So because I had already seen all that information before the actual consult, we didn't actually go over the numbers (plus all my results came back normal [unexplained infertility] diagnosis) but talked more about what his diagnosis was based on the results and what his suggestions were for going forward. That said, I'd personally request a copy of all the labs if I weren't able to access them online, so I'd have the numbers and the reference ranges in case once I got home I wanted to do any further research. I always come up with so many more questions once I leave!

  • My doctor didn't go through each and every one individually, though we discussed the ones she thought were pertinent. I did however request a copy of my results for my own reference.

  • My RE showed us the lab results on his computer monitor, but only my DH could see them because of where I was sitting and the glare.  He just went over what he said they meant (nothing unexpected on either of our parts) and what the plan was.  I do, however, wish I had seen the results on the computer screen myself since I am visual and asked for a copy of them for my reference.  I have no idea what any of my numbers are!  Definitely ask for a copy!
