How's everyone doing this week? I think we had at least 2 pre-e babies this past week, right? How are you all doing with your new LOs?

Re: **** pre-e check-in ****
I had an appt yesterday at 35w3d that went great. My OB is pretty convinced that I'm in the clear now! And everything looked so good that he said he doesn't even need to see me next week even though that's when my weekly appts would otherwise have started. So another 2 weeks until my next appointment, and by then I'll already be past 37w!!

I got my official diagnosis this week, which was not a surprise. I had an appointment on Friday and my blood pressure was high (160/100) and the results from my 24 hour urine test showed protein at above the cutoff for a pre-e diagnosis. I was sent to L&D for testing. Went in, BP went down and stayed down while I was there (which is good news) and liver and kidney enzymes are fine so far, as is my platelet count. I was hooked up to the monitors and baby boy's heartrate looked great, but I was showing a lot of small contractions. Because of my consistent high BP and the protein in my urine plus the contracting they decided to start a series of steroid shots to prepare in case of early delivery, so had the first Friday. Was sent home on full bed rest and had to go back to the hospital Saturday for the second steroid shot.
I monitored my BP at home all weekend and for the first time it stayed down (wondering if it just took a full week for the procardia I am taking to start to work). Went in Monday for a follow up visit and my BP in the office was 136/88, so not bad compared to how it's been. I have to do another 24 hour urine collection Thurs-Fri and go to the office again Friday. He also checked my cervix since I've been having contractions steadily and I'm high and long, but 1 cm dilated. So between the pre-e and dilating I'm on strict bedrest (shower and bathroom only) until the end. They're going to do weekly non-stress tests and urine collections and keep me pregnant as long as they safely can. If I have two consecutive BP readings over 140/90 then I have to call immediately, same if I have a bad headache that doesn't respond to tylenol, stomach pain or floaters in my vision.
Current plan is not to let me go past 37 weeks, so if I make it to then they'll likely induce if my body is doing anything on its own (I had a C with my first so only some induction methods are allowed). But the doctor isn't hopeful I'll make it to 37.
That's great news! Congrats!
Good luck!!!
Good luck and congratulations that you'll make it to term this time - that's awesome!
