I just finished my first OB appointment. He listened for the heartbeat and couldn't find it. So now I'm waiting for ultrasound. I'm terrified that something is wrong. He said it might just be too early, but I'm almost positive it's not. Keep fingers crossed for me...

Re: A little nervous
9 weeks is REALLY early to hear a heartbeat via doppler. My clinic won't even try until 12 weeks.
I'm keeping my FX that you get to see your sweet wiggly little bean with an excellent heart beat!
ETA: I didn't even find the heartbeat on my home doppler until 11w1d after having tried for a week and a half before.

Usually just for your peace of mind. My Dr also does u/s right away to reassure you if the doppler doesn't find it right away. Be thankful he didn't just send you away as others have had done :
This happened to me a couple of weeks ago and it was scary!
Glad you saw baby!
when I went in at 8 weeks, I asked my o.b.if we could hear the heart beat and he refused because he said we wouldn't be able to hear anything until 10-12 weeks!
I was disappointed because I saw other ladies were able to hear their babies at their first appointments. But in retrospect, I'm glad he didn't cuz, like you, I would have been freaked if he didn't find the heartbeat.
