We are planning on sanitizing our bottles and breast pump pieces pretty soon, but am probably going to have to wash them again when baby comes. I would like to use our dishwasher for some of the washing(like only with other dishes that will not have food caked on them...yuck)because the water is hot enough to even sanitize and hand washing whenever needed. We are limited financially and was wondering what other people will be using to wash their bottles, breast pump pieces, pacifiers or w/e. I have heard to put a little vinegar in a jar or cup on the top shelf and it helps with getting soap residue off, especially if you have hard water(we sure do). But other than that I'm not sure what we should use.now we use super cheap off brands but if we should spend an extra buck or two for the safety of our baby,we will..What will you be using?in your dishwasher?or if your hand washing?
Re: dish soap/dishwasher liquid on baby bottles?
I washed all bottles, pump parts, and pacifiers in the dishwasher. WITH other dirty dishes
I never put food caked stuff in the dishwasher though. I always give it a quick rinse. Also, why wash them twice?
ETA: We use Sam's Club brand of dishwasher soap. We do have hard water, and it does all right. I think some people put vinegar in the rinse cycle section, but I am not sure if that is right. We never have, just use Lemishine brand or something.
thanks for the positive responses ladies!its always nice to see a post that has positive feedback instead of critical and judgemental moms..
